As a high-performing school in an underperforming part of New York City, WCHS maintains a distinct philosophy about college counseling that is suited to its unique position. Many of our students are the first in their family to go to college; the decision about where to go to school therefore incorporates a variety of complex factors, including academic rigor, cost, location, and support. It is our goal for WCHS graduates not only to go to college, but to succeed there. We counsel students individually, helping them find schools where they can grow, thrive, and unlock their full potential.
