Believe High Schools Network Inc. (BHSN Inc.) is a new and emerging charter school management organization (CMO) started by the leaders of the Williamsburg Charter High School (WCHS), a high performing, New York City chancellor-authorized, public charter high school with five years of strong student achievement, located in Brooklyn, New York. BHSN Inc. will launch in July of 2009 with the initial responsibility of managing three charter high schools, including the Williamsburg Charter High School. The total student population will be 1,400, concentrated in the neighborhoods of Greenpoint-Williamsburg, served by Community Board #1 and School District 14.
A not for profit 501 (c)(3) organization, BHSN Inc. is committed to managing and encouraging the development of small charter high schools, which serve traditionally underserved communities and student populations. BHSN Inc. focuses expressly on the high school age population which has traditionally been underrepresented in the development of charter schools in New York City.
