9Central, our Freshman Academy program, has hit the ground running with Mr. Sullivan at the helm. We have nearly 200 freshmen who have done a stellar job getting down to work in their rigorous classes. All of our freshmen are taking AP World History and nearly all of them taking Latin and Algebra; high school academics are certainly no joke, but our freshmen have proved they are up to the challenge! We have also held a 9Central Pep Rally and have had a very strong presence of freshmen parents at our parent meetings and events. Way to go, 9Central!

The college applications process is in full force for our seniors as we have dozens of colleges visiting the school. Mr. Samuels, Ms. Giovenco, and all of the Guidance Office staff are working hard with our seniors to create their final college lists and assemble the different pieces of college applications. Good luck to all seniors as they write their college essays and give the SAT one last shot. It will be so exciting to hear back from colleges across the country in a few short months |

The WCHS is proud to offer a wide array of after-school activities this fall. Some new offerings include martial arts, a crochet club, a step team, and girls’ soccer, in addition to returning activities such as cross-country, the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Clubs, and the Environmental Club. There is certainly something for everyone, and we are happy to see so many students getting involved in extracurricular activities!

Our school has increased the number of parent events that we are offering this year. So far, we have held a “Foods of the World” parent event that was a great success and a Flea Market fundraiser. This month, we will have Latin Night for Parents. We have our Fall Play, Fame, our Penny Social, and our Fall Dance Show coming up soon as well. We are looking forward to other enjoyable events coming up soon and we hope to see you there! |
