Physical Education & Health at Williamsburg Charter High School is based upon the following goals: developing and maintaining a positive attitude toward personal health, movement, and sport; developing a higher level of competence in health skills & knowledge and in movement and sport; acquiring the knowledge to develop and maintain an optimal level of personal health and fitness.
The P.E. & Health curriculum is based on a program, whereby students are; learning, having fun, being physically active, becoming health literate, and being involved in class. Physical Education and Health Education are mandated courses for all students in the public schools of New York State and are a requirement for graduation from the W.C.H.S. Students receive 2 credits per year for the successful completion of Physical Education for a total of 4 credits upon graduation and Health Education is a mandatory half year course that results in 2 credits.
