Ms. Rackmil is in her sixth year at the Williamsburg Charter High School. She has been working as a SNAS (Student Needs and Academic Support) teacher in Living Environment.
Ms. Rackmil also fills part of the role of compliance coordinator for the SNAS department. Ms. Rackmil’s passion for teaching started at a young age. Through the years teachers have had a strong impact on her life. Her teachers in elementary and high school have left a big imprint encouraging her to follow in their footsteps. She loves watching her students thrive in and out of the classroom, including school shows and activities.
Before coming to WCHS, Ms. Rackmil worked at the School for Language and Communication Development (SLCD-Woodside). At SLCD she has taught a wide range of classes including 7th grade math, 6th grade science, socialization, home and careers, and reading and writing.
Ms. Rackmil attended the University of Hartford where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in general and special education. Her certifications include Elementary Education K-6 (CT), Special Education K-12 (CT), Students with Disabilities 1-6 (NY), Students with Disabilities 5-9 (NY), and Students with Disabilities 9-12 (NY). She then received her Master’s degree in Disability Studies from the School of Professional Studies (CUNY).
In her spare time, Ms. Rackmil likes to help with the school musicals, read, watch T.V, and spend time with friends.
