Sam currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Williamsburg Charter High School in Brooklyn, NY, where he has been a board member since September 2012. A licensed attorney admitted in New York and New Jersey, Sam is also a Director and Regulatory Compliance Counsel for UBS Financial Services, Inc. Prior to that, he was a senior member of the Compliance Department of Constellation Advisers, a management consulting firm in New York, NY. Sam also served an attorney at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for several years, providing interpretive guidance on new and existing financial regulations to regulatory staff and industry firms. Before his time at FINRA, Sam was the Assistant General Counsel of Equinox Funds, advising senior management, compliance experts and staff on corporate law and regulations. Sam earned his juris doctor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, NY, where he graduated as an E. Nathaniel Gates Scholar, and received his bachelor’s degree in history (summa cum laude) from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY. Sam grew up and was raised on the South Side in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
